AutoRAG for CRM: make every attachment answerable

AutoRAG for CRM means every file that lands on a lead or account is converted into searchable passages automatically - so the assistant answers from the attachment, not from a fluent guess about what the prospect sent.

The CRM already has the files

Notes and stage fields are searchable. The PDF proposal, the recorded discovery call, the scanned NDAs in the email thread usually are not. That is where deals hide: terms, objections, technical constraints. AutoRAG for CRM does not replace Salesforce or HubSpot. It adds a convert step whenever an attachment arrives, so those bytes become passages your retrieval layer can cite next to the contact record.

What changes for the rep

Instead of reopening a twelve-page deck before a call, they ask what the prospect said about pricing, security, or timeline - and get the passage with a source. The CRM stays the system of record for people and stages. The corpus is the system of record for what was written and said. Without conversion, AI over a CRM is AI over the fields you typed, which is the thinnest slice of the relationship.

Ingest on attachment, not on ask

Wire convert to the same event that stores the file: email inbound, form upload, opportunity document sync. Multipart POST to a conversion API, load JSONL into your vector store keyed by account id, done. Asking the model to read the PDF in chat for every question is not AutoRAG - it is a slow, expensive re-parse that never builds a reusable index.

Privacy and which engine runs

Prospect packs often include contracts and personal data. Prefer converting only paths your CRM ACL already allows the answering app to see. Use speech transcription for call recordings and OCR for scans; leave text-layer PDFs and Office files on the cheap parse path. Frontier models belong on the answer after retrieval, not on re-reading every attachment from scratch.

A shape that ships

Teams deploy this with RAG Converter on the convert seam: when a prospect file hits the CRM, the API turns it into AI-readable JSONL - including transcription for audio attachments - and the CRM chat or agent retrieves from that corpus. The CRM UI can stay unchanged. The difference is that "what did they attach last Tuesday" becomes a query, not a scavenger hunt.
